The launch did not happen in December. It moved to the first quarter of 2026, and in March 2026 OpenAI told reporters it was "pushing out the launch of adult mode" to focus on work that is a higher priority for more users, adding that getting the experience right will take more time.[1] No new date was given.
So the practical answer to "can ChatGPT do NSFW" is still no. Ask for explicit roleplay and it will steer away, however you phrase it. What is Grok spicy mode, and what does it actually allow?
